When emailing about a bug, it really helps if you include:
- Your device model and operating system version (e.g., iPhone 15 / iOS 18.2, Pixel 8 / Android 15)
- The version of Budget Utopia (Profile โ About)
- A short description of what you were trying to do and what happened instead
- A screenshot if relevant
๐๏ธ Delete Your Account & Data
You can permanently delete your Budget Utopia account at any time. We provide two ways to do this โ pick whichever is easier for you.
Option 1 โ In the app (fastest)
- Open Budget Utopia on your phone
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted
- Your account and all associated data are scheduled for deletion immediately
Option 2 โ By email
If you no longer have access to the app or prefer to request deletion in writing, email us from the address associated with your account:

Please include the email address tied to your Budget Utopia account in the message body. We'll confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
๐ What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your profile (name, email, account credentials)
- All financial data you entered: budget categories, transactions, savings goals, debts, subscriptions, and net worth items
- Your AI Money Coach conversation history
- Your badges, streaks, and gamification progress
- Your push notification tokens
- Any leaderboard entries linked to your account
Personal data and financial records are deleted from active systems within 30 days. Backup copies are purged within 90 days.
What we may retain
- Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., overall app usage statistics with no link back to you) may be retained indefinitely
- Records required by law (e.g., financial transaction records for premium subscription billing) may be retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting regulations
- Abuse-prevention records (e.g., a hash of an account that violated our Terms) may be retained to prevent re-registration
Premium subscribers: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Cancel through the App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore before deleting your account, otherwise you may continue to be billed.
๐ Request a Copy of Your Data
You have the right to receive an export of the personal data we hold about you, in a machine-readable format. To request it, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Data Export Request".
We respond within 30 days (or sooner where required by law โ e.g., 15 days under CCPA, 30 days under GDPR).
๐ค AI Money Coach Issues
If an AI Coach response is inaccurate, offensive, or otherwise problematic, you can report it directly from the app:
- Long-press the AI response bubble, or tap the โ Report link beneath it
- Choose a reason: Inaccurate ยท Offensive ยท Other
- The report is sent to our support team and, where appropriate, forwarded to our AI provider
